FIND YOUR TARGET HEART RATE

Your target heart - rate is useful to know so you can see how hard you should be working.

The rate depends on your age - the older you are, the less hard you are capable of exerting yourself; also, the fitter you are, the stronger your heart is and so the slower your resting pulse (when you are very relaxed)..

Taking these factors into account, the Karvonen method is used to work out your heart rate ranging from a low fitness level to a high fitness level.
