    REASONS WHY PEOPLE DON’T START
Surveys have shown people have various reasons such as

· "I can’t get myself organised”
· "I can’t be bothered”
· "I don’t know how to go about it“
· "I’m too unhealthy to start”
· "I will start when I’m fitter”
· "I will start when I’ve lost some weight”
· "I’ve got no-one to go with”
· "I don’t have the right clothes”
· "I’ve got kids to look after or pick up”
· "I’m too tired “
· "I’ll start tomorrow “
· "I’ll start next week”
· "I’ll start next month”
· "I’ll start next year”
· "I’ve got too much else to do, I’m too busy”

Sound familiar? Many of the reasons are valid, of course, but where there’s a will there’s a way….

MOTIVATION
It is all too easy to make excuses or put off starting. You can do anything as long as you are motivated!
Over the years, through my interest in the martial arts, yoga, tai chi, NLP, visualisation, sports psychology ( and the occasional firewalking!) I have studied and applied motivational techniques to health and fitness. It also works the other way – if you use a positive mental attitude to carry out an activity, the same positive approach carries into other areas of your life, thus benefitting you in many other ways!

Together we can work out a strategy to motivate yourself in small stages; ultimately you will be able to motivate yourself !

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES
Muhammad Ali
  • He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.

  • It isn't the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it's the pebble in your shoe.

  • It's lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting challenges, and I believed in myself.

  • It's the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.

  • What keeps me going is goals.

  • Don't count the days, make the days count.

  • I hated every minute of training, but I said, "Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion."

  • If my mind can conceive it; and my heart can believe it - then I can achieve it
